Individual ring tones now also for the fixed net
MATERNA realises new service
Dortmund, Germany, 6 February 2004.
One of the most successful communication services is immediately available for the fixed-line, too. Users with appropriate devices can now order their favourite song as ring tone for the fixed line phone at www.sms-im-festnetz.de. This service is realised by MATERNA Information & Communications, a leading international provider in the area of Fixed Net SMS.
The possibility to choose individually from a range of ring tones allows for the personalisation of the fixed line telephone, for the first time. In future, already the ring tone will indicate who is calling before the phone has been picked up.
The download of ring tones is available for all subscribers to the Anny Way Fixed Net SMS Service using Siemens Gigaset S100 or Panasonic KX-TCD 5xx. Further device models are continuously taken into the service. As the only pre-condition for a successful connection, the Anny Way Fixed Net SMS Centre must be configured in the device.
The range of ring tones comprises any kind of songs, from the latest dance charts, over hymns and love songs throughout to children and folk songs. Each ring tone will be charged with 1.49 Euros. Polyphonic ring tones are coming soon.
SMS services for the fixed line have already been introduced by MATERNA since the middle of 2001. MATERNA´s fixed net service did not only reach a top position in Germany but is also very successful on the international market. Thus, British Telecom customers, for example, are able to receive short messages and to send SMS to all British wireless networks. The necessary infrastructure comes from MATERNA. The realisation was carried out in co-operation with its partner Unisys.
