Dortmund/Hannover, 24 February 2004.
Under the motto „Vitamin M for your business“, MATERNA GmbH Information & Communications will present products and solutions under the brand name Anny Way at the CeBIT 2004 in Hall 12, Stand A15. The presence of MATERNA at the fair will focus this time on the new MMS applications like MMS to TV, fixed network services and various micropayment systems. MATERNA also will present their solutions for machine-to-machine communications (M2M) and MACS.
MMS2TV
At the CeBIT in Hannover , MATERNA Information & Communications are demonstrating how messaging services will continue moving into the living room. Visitors have the possibility to have a picture taken of themselves by a mobile camera and their photo sent per MMS. After that, they can have a look at their picture message on a TV screen at the MATERNA stand, forward the MMS from the television set or answer it. Basis for MMS to TV is the Multimedia Home Platform (MHP), turning TV into an additional device for the sending and receiving of SMS and MMS. The company has a good market position of an interactive applications provider and service provider for messaging services.
M2M communications
M2M solutions support companies with the integration of different machines into the corporate network, giving them remote access and remote control to their machinery. For the development of according solutions, close co-operation between network operators, infrastructure suppliers, system integrators, value adding distributors, service providers and application developers is inevitable. MATERNA, as gateway service provider and System integrator guaranties customised optimisation of business processes through total project management in the field M2M communication. At the CeBIT MATERNA shows live an alarm system based on M2M.
MACS
In Hannover, MATERNA will present their Anny Way Mobile Application and Content Server (MACS), which is leading edge infrastructure for mobile services. This platform offers network carriers and enterprise customers all necessary technologies to distribute, run and charge any kind of mobile content like SMS- and MMS-related services, J2ME, ring- tones, logos or other binary content e.g. MP3, Videos or Symbian files.
The most important functions of MACS are the combination of different contents from most various providers, the provision of different billing methods and flexible business models.
M-Payment
Whereas in the past mainly network operators used to be able to offer SMS and MMS subscription services, now all companies and service providers have the possibility to commercialise corresponding services. MT Billing is particularly interesting for those subscription services that are commercialised via media like tv or magazines. These include, in particular, information services, such as the daily top news, the German „Bundesliga” ticker, economy news, the daily horoscope and flirt suggestions.
MT Billing extends the comprehensive range of micro-payment solutions. This includes, besides Premium SMS and Premium MMS, the solution Anny Way Buy Mobile which can be used for both, billing of mobile services and payment of Internet contents. The user identifies through his/her mobile number and immediately receives access to cost liable Web sites via an access code transmitted. The billing will be processed via the user´s mobile phone invoice and can also be used for subscription services. This solution is particularly interesting for providers who, due to the increase in DSL coverage, are looking for new ways of billing.
