Dortmund, November 15 2006
vistream, the fifth wireless provider in Germany has successfully started live operations. The brand partners Che Mobil, igge & ko, SUN SIM and PTT Mobile had already begun marketing in September and October. Four additional partners will launch their wireless offers by the end of the year.
"In a record-breaking time of just a year, we have built a comprehensive wireless company", says vistream Managing Director Jürgen Zimmer. "The complexity of the technology and processes is nowhere subordinate to the established providers. We were able to achieve our goal only due to the commitment of our employees and a great cooperation with our partner E-Plus." Zimmer emphasizes. "The support by the Federal Network Authority [Bundesnetzagentur] should also be mentioned."
As the first German (MVNE), the vistream GmbH markets its services jointly with brand partners from various sectors. The offer to the corporate sector comprises the whole wireless service range from support of the end user via hotline, over flexible and innovative technical solutions for GSM and UMTS, up to convergent products. In addition, vistream has concluded a permission-for-use contract for base stations and wireless license with the established network provider E-Plus.
"We are happy about the successful launch of the first partner brands of vistream. E-Plus too profits from this success, because the cooperation with vistream develops new revenue sources for E-Plus. We can be assured of a future successful and positive cooperation", declares Thorsten Dirks, Deputy CEO at E-Plus and COO with KPN Mobile International.
vistream is more than a consultant or provider of technical infrastructure" The company operates its own core network, owns an exclusive phone number range 01570, its own net ID and was accepted as fifth partner in the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Association of the German Wireless Communications Providers. The brand partners are supported by vistream through technical solutions, e.g., low-priced roaming tariffs, special offers for ethnic target groups and innovative content solutions.
The successful MVNE concept is also marketed internationally by the vistream parent company
MATERNA Information & Communications. Concrete projects are already realized in Great Britain, Spain and Switzerland.
