Dortmund, Germany/Cannes, France - 04 February 2004
MT (Mobile Terminated) Billing from MATERNA Information & Communications allows for the comfortable payment of mobile subscription services. With this, the billing will not be processed before the delivery of the required SMS or MMS. MT Billing extends the MATERNA range of micro-payment methods including, for example, Premium SMS and MMS as well as the solution Anny Way Buy Mobile for Internet contents.
Whereas in the past mainly network operators used to be able to offer SMS and MMS subscription services, now all companies and service providers have the possibility to commercialise corresponding services. MT Billing is particularly interesting for those subscription services that are commercialised via media like tv or magazines. These include, in particular, information services, such as the daily top news, the German „Bundesliga” ticker, economy news, the daily horoscope and flirt suggestions.
For the order of a subscription service, the customer must send a password to a short code number that is the same for all networks. After the customer has confirmed that he/she would like to receive the ordered service on a regular basis, the required contents will be delivered at the stipulated times. The content provider can decide about the time of delivery. Daily, weekly or event related deliveries are possible. There is no need for a registration or the transmission of banking details or credit card details. The billing of the received information is processed via the user´s mobile phone bill, using different tariff levels. The message can be sent into all four German and some international wireless networks.
Besides the routing, MATERNA takes on the complete subscriber administration for portals and service providers that are interested and will also deliver contents, if required.
MT Billing extends the comprehensive range of micro-payment solutions. This includes, besides Premium SMS and Premium MMS, the solution Anny Way Buy Mobile which can be used for both, billing of mobile services and payment of Internet contents. The user identifies through his/her mobile number and immediately receives access to cost liable Web sites via an access code transmitted. The billing will be processed via the user´s mobile phone invoice and can also be used for subscription services. This solution is particularly interesting for providers who, due to the increase in DSL coverage, are looking for new ways of billing.
