Content machine for downloads without OTA

With MACS, Mobile Application and Content Server, the Dortmund-based telecommunications specialist, MATERNA Information & Communications, has developed an efficient infrastructure for mobile services. Numerous renowned companies, such as Siemens and AOL, are already working with MACS. In hall 12, stand A26, MATERNA is presenting a MACS-based self-service machine enabling visitors to load digital content, such as ring tones and logos, onto their mobile phones. With this, MATERNA presents, for the first time, a universal mobile platform that allows for content download without OTA.
The system provides all the technology for despatch and delivery of any kind of mobile data, such as SMS and MMS related services, J2ME, ring tones, logos or other data formats, i.e. MP3 or videos. MACS enables a company to provide its customers with regional specific content, in every country. The services on offer can range from product information, games and ring tones through to quizzes and special campaigns. All contents can be retrieved via SMS, MMS, WAP or WEB. The platform, operated in MATERNA´s powerful data center, can be completely integrated into a company web site. The range of services also includes an XHTML based WAP portal.
MACS is a multi-user-enabled system which, in this case, enables worldwide SMS/WAP Push delivery. The integrated content management system allows for quick pasting, editing and deleting of contents, without any expert knowledge. The additional translation tool guarantees high-quality presentation in all the desired languages.
MACS includes an integrative growth concept, allowing many possible forms of service from a quick start with little content, to big marketing campaigns opening up many mobile services. The system, based on the reliable J2EE technology for application servers, grows with its utilization. Plug-ins for different applications, within its modular structure, secures forward looking extension possibilities. Therefore, it must be considered as a reliable component, meeting the current requirements of mobile services.
