Product campaign - MATERNA presents a lot of new things at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona

Information and telecommunications specialist, MATERNA Information & Communications, will have a representation at 3GSM World Congress, for the sixth consecutive year. The company intends to confirm its position as technology leader by introducing numerous “Strategy & Innovation“ products and solutions to an international professional audience, from 13 to 16 February 2006. Apart from this, MATERNA will present its successful product portfolio, including WAP and SS7 Data Gateway, Service Delivery Platform MACS, MMS Accelerator and a wide spectrum of high-class content, at stand F45, in hall 2.
Innovative ideas and persistent product development are important reasons why MATERNA looks back on many years of success. At 3GSM World Congress 2006, the company will continue this tradition by showing a lot of innovations for network operators and service providers. Among other things, MATERNA is demonstrating, live, the applications possible with RFID (Radio Frequency Identity), IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystems) and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) in the telecommunications environment. Furthermore, interested trade visitors have the opportunity to have a look at one of the first applications from the international research project GOLLUM. In the frame of an exemplary city portal, the application automatically adapts the displayed pictures and videos, according to the available bandwidth.
Service Delivery Platform MACS as white label solution
MACS (Mobile Application and Content Server), an efficient and complete solution by the Dortmund-based telecommunications specialist MATERNA Information & Communications, has established a place in the market through AOL and Siemens. As from now, MATERNA offers the MACS platform as a high-quality white label solution, to all B2B customers, enabling a company to provide its customers with individual content services, quickly and at a fair price.
The platform provides network operators, ISPs, portals, the music industry and corporate customers with all technical facilities required for the commercialization and billing of all kind of mobile content, such as SMS and MMS services, Java applications, Symbian files, ring tones, logos, binary or streaming content. Furthermore, wma and, MP3 files, including complete music albums and videos, are supported.
Mobile Data Gateway, version 3.0, for optimal data download
The new Mobile Data Gateway version 3.0, the third generation of MATERNAs successful WAP Gateway solution, is now available. As a link between mobile end devices and data services, the Gateway supports the possibilities available from modern technology more than ever. This applies, in particular, to the download of complex files, e.g. games, music tracks or videos, over 3G networks. The Mobile Data Gateway sets a benchmark in the field “WAP Push”. The simple connection of various Push applications is optimized by Wholesales PPG.
SS7 Data Gateway enables effective data transport
MATERNA is presenting the SS7 Data Gateway, a product, enabling the direct sending and receiving of SMS messages over a wireless operator´s SS7 network, without the necessity to go through the SMS center. Bottlenecks, caused, e.g., by a restricted SMSC throughput, can be avoided, which makes data transfer much more flexible. The SS7 Data Gateway will be used in the Fixed Net SMS and Fixed Net MMS environment, for the time being.
Sending MMS information services, almost in real-time
The growing MMS market entails new requirements in both person-to-person and application-to-person communication. Today, network operators and service providers are being challenged to deliver a great number of multimedia messages in a quick and reliable way.
Through the functional independence of person-to-person and application-to-person communication, MATERNAs MMS Accelerator secures transfer rates of up to 400 MMS/sec., about 10 times faster than an MMSC. It can be used with any existing MMSC solution.
Mobile Entertainment with attractive content
Since 1997, MATERNA has developed its own news and entertainment content, under the brand Anny Way. The portfolio includes far more than 100 SMS information services and over 30 MMS and WAP services. Furthermore, MATERNA offers animations, videos, MMS greeting cards, games and applications (Java, Symbian), black-and-white and colored logos and ring tones. If required, MATERNA provides the complete content and portal management, from one single source. All technical processes can be conducted by means of the Service Delivery Platform MACS.
