MATERNA implements innovative MMS-Services for Belgian network operator Mobistar

The telecommunication specialist MATERNA Information & Communications, located in Dortmund, Germany, has successfully implemented two new MMS-Services for the Belgian network operator Mobistar. For the more than 3 million Mobistar customers, the sending of MMS has become even more attractive now, thanks to the MMS Composer and MMS2Email applications.
MATERNA has developed the MMS Composer application, which is an efficient web-based tool for creating and sending multimedia messages to mobile phones. Mobistar customers have herewith the possibility, from a bilingual web portal, to compose their individual MMS message with a picture, a sound or a video, and a text. Although they have the possibility to use their own content stored on their computer, the users also have access to a wide and rich portfolio of high-quality content models provided by MATERNA. Each composed MMS message can be sent to a list of up to 3 Belgian mobile phone numbers simultaneously. Customers may manage their usual contacts in an address book. Messages can easily be sent against payment, via a secure and simple online payment web interface provided by w-HA.
The MMS Composer forms part of MATERNA’s ‘MACS’ Service Delivery Platform (Mobile Application & Content Server), which is already in use with numerous international network operators and internet companies, such as, for instance, AOL in Germany, Telering in Austria, WIN in Great Britain and Axiom in the Middle East.
The other new feature provided by MATERNA to Mobistar is the MMS2Email application, which also offers an improved service to Mobistar customers. Here, all elements of the MMS message are delivered in a pleasing HTML-Email format and are transformed into a PC-supported format. Text and pictures are shown directly in the Email, multimedia elements are made available via a separate link. For example, the addressee can see a screenshot of the video that is contained in the MMS message. If interested, he can see the complete video by a simple click. A special highlight: the addressee can quickly and easily answer – either by the MMS Composer or by an answer from his web or POP3 email client.
Both the MMS Composer and the MMS2Email applications are hosted and operated in the highly reliable MATERNA data centre in Dortmund, Germany.
