Dortmund, 13 February 2006
The third generation of MATERNAs successful WAP Gateway solution, Anny Way Mobile Data Gateway, version 3.0, is now available. As a link between mobile end devices and data services, the Gateway supports the possibilities available from modern technology more than ever. This applies, in particular, to the download of complex files, e.g. games, music tracks or videos, over 3G networks. The Mobile Data Gateway sets a benchmark in the field “WAP Push”. The simple connection of various Push applications is optimized by Wholesales PPG.
The Anny Way solution makes it possible to reduce the number of required servers by up to 75 per cent, compared to many other competitors. The Mobile Data Gateway does not necessarily require an additional data base, requiring no further investments in hardware. It enables to use servers in a dispersed architecture, allowing single servers to be switched off, e. g. for maintenance, without process interruption.
Network operators and service providers can use the Anny Way Mobile Data Gateway, suitable for any Internet based service, as the only central component for all mobile data services. Of course, all WAP-enabled end devices, older handset models, WAP 2.0 handsets, PDAs, laptops, etc., are supported.
Awarded “best SMS/MMS network infrastructure“
In 2005, the “160characters Association”, a leading non-profit organization for professional mobile messaging, awarded the Anny Way Mobile Data Gateway with the internationally acknowledged “Global Messaging Award”, in the category “best SMS/MMS network infrastructure or platform”.
A lot of international network operators already have put the Anny Way Mobile Data Gateway into operation. The British mmO2 group, for example, has been working with this solution, since January 2004. The flexibility and scalability provided by this network element from MATERNA, gives O2 the possibility to extend its services quickly and with minimal cost and to react to the dynamic growth of WAP, MMS and Java Games without any delay or problems. Integrated into the O2 network, one of the largest active nets in the UK, the Mobile Data Gateway is currently the most frequently used WAP gateway in Europe.
