The German magazine “connect“ awarded the “Mobile Internet Award 2004“ to the best mobile Internet applications for handsets, smartphones and organizers. The network operator O2 was elected “best MMS information service“. The provider from Munich, an mmO2 plc subsidiary, uses MATERNAs editorial knowledge as well as the MMS Value Added Service (VAS) Platform from the Dortmund based telecommunications specialist.

The MMS information services created for O2 includes, for example, top news, daily horoscope and weather forecast. Furthermore, the MATERNA editorial team prepares information covering special sports events, such as the Olympic Games, Tour de France and entertainment, for example “FunSutra” for mobile devices.

The MMS Value Added Service (VAS) Platform from MATERNA combines different contents from various providers, the provision of different billing methods and flexible business models.

This platform provides network operators and corporate customers with all the technologies that are necessary to send any kind of mobile data, i. e. SMS and MMS related services, J2ME, ring tones, logos or other data formats such as MP3 or video files.

The integrative system growth concept allows almost all manners of service launches – from a small jump start with limited portfolio up to carrier-grade marketing campaigns supporting numerous mobile services.
The platform, based on robust J2EE application server technology, easily grows with the system load and its modular application plug-in concept guarantees future-proof facilities.
