MediaPlazza uses IVR order system by MATERNA to bring mobile content to the international market

MediaPlazza, worldwide leader of wireless content on the Internet, connected to more than 120 carriers in more than 45 countries, giving access to 750 million cell phones with a range of more than 30 000 mobile products, now utilizes the IVR order system (Interactive Voice Response) by MATERNA Information & Communications for international order and payment of ringtones, logos and Java games download. The platform is operated in MATERNA´s data center, in Dortmund, Germany.

MediaPlazza’s customers dial in through a national premium service number to order the desired content via IVR. The selection of logos, ringtones, pictures, etc. is provided by a Voice User Interface (VUI). The VUI also ensures that the user remains in the system long enough for allowing content payment.

At launch, MediaPlazza has made the MATERNA operated IVR system available to MediaPlazza’s customers in 10 countries Austria, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and Switzerland in the respective national language. Other countries are to follow soon. MATERNA also provides some IVR premium service numbers to MediaPlazza, in Germany and in Switzerland.

The IVR order system by MATERNA is part of the Voice Service Platform developed by the Dortmund-based telecommunications specialist. This platform can be flexibly integrated into existing environments and connected with available applications, i. e. via VoiceXML, http, SMTP or SQL interfaces to enable data access via a speech interface to the user. The telephone network is connected via ISDN, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) or over the telecom network operator´s signaling protocol “SS7“. The Voice Service Platform can be seen as a universally usable and configurable interface between public telephone and data networks. This solution can be supplied by MATERNA either as managed service or as an on-site delivered turnkey solution.
