No. 1 data carrier in UK uses the Mobile Data Gateway from MATERNA
O2 UK: 20 Million page impressions a day

The British mmO2-group uses the Anny Way Mobile Data Gateway in Great Britain since November 2003. The gateway allows O2-customers to access a variety of services, which might either be based on WAP 1.1, 1.2.1 or 2.0.
02 chose MATERNA´s gateway against stiff competition, to provide a system that met the company`s future WAP gateway requirements. This was to deploy a platform whith a simple architecture that was flexible, resilient and highly scalable, whilst at the same time being cost effective to install and run. These requirements were met in full. The flexibility and scalability of the Anny Way Mobile Data Gateway gives O2 the ability to quickly expand capacity at minimum cost, to meet the rapid growth in WAP, MMS and Java games services it is currently seeing. The gateway allows O2 to reduce his hardware outlay from twenty-six to only eight servers. WAP1, WAP2 and Push Proxy Gateways platforms were successfully deployed and integrated into the O2 network, forming one of the largest gateways in use in the UK and currently servicing around 20,000,000 page impressions a day.
