We take the direct route. Our SS7 data gateway (SDG) enables you to send and receive SMS messages directly via your SS7 cellular phone network. The big advantage: a detour via an SMS centre is no longer necessary and bottlenecks as caused, for example, by limited SMSC throughput are avoided resolutely.
In Version 1.0, the SDG has an http interface which allows a query of the IMSI to an MSISDN. The use of this functionality leads to the target network the SMS message recipient is in being able to be determined via the HLR of your cellular phone network - even if a participant is roaming. For this purpose, the SS7 MAP function "Send Routing Information for Short Message" is used in order to obtain the respective information from your HLR . This solution can be run both with Windows 2000 and Linux RedHAt Enterprise Server 3.0.
The new version 2.0 of the SS7 Data Gateway is supporting an universal connection of an external application to the SDG via the SMPP protocol. MATERNA was able to increase the performance of the message transmission significantly.
